The couchette coach – relaxed travel with plenty of space
The couchette car is the basic service on our UEX night trains. Our spacious compartments are occupied by a maximum of four to six people (plus children under four without their own bed) when booking a compartment.
There is also the ‘Max2 couchette coach’ category. A single seat can be booked here, but we will only place one additional person in a compartment. This ensures more distance and, of course, more storage space in the compartment.
If you are travelling in a group, you will be together in the compartment, subject to booking and capacity. The carriages have tables and are equipped with reading lamps and curtains.
The sleeper car – while you dream of the destination, we take you there
The sleeping car is the most comfortable way to travel overnight with the UEX Night. Our cozy compartments offer space for up to three people and are ideal for couples, friends or solo travelers looking for a little more privacy.
Each compartment has its own wash area with mirror, washbasin, power socket and shelves – for your personal morning and evening routine on board. The sleeping cars usually run at the head of the train or at the end, which ensures particularly little through traffic and therefore a quiet, undisturbed night.
Our friendly crew will welcome you at the loading station or at the intermediate stops and will be on hand to answer any questions or requests you may have throughout the journey. On request, you can be given a wake-up time, a small breakfast or help with your luggage. So your vacation begins as soon as you board.
The Junior Suite – the top category in the Urlaubs-Express
Our Junior Suites are the top categories on board the UEX Night and combine comfort, privacy and a generous sense of space. They consist of two interconnected sleeper compartments separated by an intermediate door.
Thanks to the clear separation of living and sleeping areas, one traveler can go to sleep while the other is still reading or enjoying the journey. Families benefit in particular: while the children sleep undisturbed, parents can end the evening in peace and quiet in the living area.
Both areas are equipped with their own washing facilities including mirror, socket and storage space – so everyone can freshen up independently of each other. The Junior Suites offer plenty of freedom of movement, additional storage space and are occupied by a maximum of three people.
Bookings are always made as a complete suite – for a very special travel experience with that certain extra comfort and sense of space.
Our little shop on the UEX night train
Some call it a bistro, we – in true Cologne style – simply call it a Büdchen. As a Cologne railroad company, it is a matter of the heart for us to have such a small, cozy meeting place on board many of our night trains.
Our Büdchen is much more than just a point of sale: in the evening it becomes a popular meeting place for our guests. This is where travelers come to chat, toast with a cold beer or a glass of wine and get in the mood for the upcoming vacation.
In a relaxed atmosphere, people get to know each other, exchange tips and travel plans and enjoy the special feeling of being on the road – without the stress of everyday life. Whether for a chat, a drink or simply to see who is still awake:
